In-Kind Gifts:
In-kind gifts are donated items (artifacts
etc.) that may be used by the Museum in any way the Museum
Director or the Board of Directors see fit, or (in some instances) as
specifically contracted with the donor. The value of the item shall
be determined by the Director of the Museum, and will be the fair value amount of the item if bought or sold.
The value will be applied towards membership.
The Museum maintains a
Wish List
of projects and other needed Museum
improvements.

In 2010, the Caldwell
County Historical Society donated paint to
refurbish three of the display rooms, and painter Jim Watson gave a
discount to paint the rooms.
Some of the items donated in
2010 were an air conditioning unit for
the Music Room (from
Alvin Daughtridge); a Reading Room
table (Gibbons family), a ceiling fan for
upstairs hall (Bob Hensley),
a refrigerator
for kitchen area, Victrola for display, and
desk chair (Barbara Love), and a computer (John Spicer). |

The Museum's 2009 Christmas
card was
"Christmas at
the Center Theatre in the 1940's"
by local
artist Sarah Akins.
The artist
granted the Museum the right to use this image on
greeting cards and prints to be sold by the Museum,
with the
Museum retaining the profits of the sales. |

Scale models of the 1887
Chapel of Rest (Lenoir) and the 1885
Chapel of Peace (in Catawba County). Both models hand crafted by Lenard Sullivan and
given to the Caldwell Heritage Museum by the artist in 2008. Both models are now on
permanent display
in the Museum. |

Dustin Turnmyre
granted the Museum the right to use images of two of his
paintings on greeting cards and prints to be sold by the Museum, with the
Museum retaining the profits of the sales. The Red
Pig painting was the Museum's 2008 Christmas card.
The snowy Museum image continues to be sold by the
Museum, as cards and as art. |
