PROPOSED Caldwell County history DVD's
The Board
of Directors of the Caldwell Heritage Museum has
approved the production of a series of DVDs of
Caldwell
County history. We now need your support to
make the project a reality!
The project
aligns itself with the Museum’s mission statement which
is in part “…to educate, research, and preserve the
history of Caldwell County through educational
services….” A committee consisting of Board members
Tom Shuford, Mike Gibbons, Betty Buss, Museum
Director John Hawkins, and Board
Chairperson Bob Booth, recently met with
videographers to discuss the possibility. The committee
has suggested that the first DVD be an overview of the
early history of the Caldwell County area, ending with
the formation of the county in 1841. The script and some
initial footage can be viewed at the Museum during
regular opening hours.
The Board has further
approved a contract with
Main Events Studios of
Granite Falls to do the first DVD for $2,500.
Unfortunately, the Museum’s 2010 budget does not provide
for these funds. Therefore, the committee is seeking
individuals and businesses willing to sponsor the
project. All donors will have their names listed in the
Friends of the Museum
section of “Hilltop Echoes” (the Museum’s quarterly
newsletter),
and will also receive between one and seven free copies
of the completed DVD, depending on the level of the
donation.
-
Contributors giving from $100 to $499 for the
initial DVD of this project will receive a
complimentary copy of the DVD upon its completion,
in addition to having their name(s) listed as
"Supporters" in the newsletter.
-
Contributors giving $500-$999 will receive up to
three (3) complimentary copies of the completed DVD
in addition to having their name(s) listed as
"Patrons" in the newsletter.
-
Contributors giving $1,000 to $2,499 will receive up
to five (5) complimentary copies of the DVD and will
have their name(s) listed in the newsletter as well
as in the DVD's credits as a “Conservator.”
-
Contributors giving $2,500 or more will receive up
to seven (7) complimentary copies of the completed
video, and have their name(s) listed in the
newsletter as well as as in the DVD's credits as a
“Benefactor.”
The eventual purchase
price individual DVD's has not yet been determined.
Profits from sales of DVD's will go to the Museum's
operating funds.
Please mail
your tax-exempt contributions to the Caldwell Heritage
Museum,
