Caldwell Heritage Museum The Caldwell Heritage Museum was opened in 1991 and is dedicated to preserving and presenting the history of Caldwell County, North Carolina, through about two dozen permanent exhibits and rotating special exhibits. The museum is housed in the last remaining building of Davenport College, a prestigious institution of higher learning for women that was supported by the Methodist Church in Lenoir from 1855 to 1933. The Museum depends on you - visit! And volunteer!

The
Caldwell Heritage Museum is located in Lenoir, near downtown at 112 Vaiden Street behind the Davenport School.
From Highway 321
going north, turn west (left) onto Routes 18/64 at "Downtown Lenoir" sign, and then
immediately bear left again before the McDonald's (Rt. 64/(Morganton Blvd.). Make a right onto Mulberry Street
(second traffic light). Turn left on to College Avenue at the
first traffic light (uphill). Go through the next light, and make an immediate left onto Vaiden Street, opposite St. James Episcopal Church. The museum is on the
right.
